SoHo Bar & Grill

Burgerlees:

The Fat Cow Side ViewSomewhere in Century Village Garhoud can be found the SoHo Bar & Grill Steakhouse. This restaurant, which provides outdoor seating in its wooden style tables and chairs, makes it the perfect place where their signature burger can be enjoyed in the afternoon with good company.

This place is very well known for their famous burger, The Fat Cow, a six ounce Angus beef paddy for 80 AED or Wagyu beef paddy for 95 AED, I chose the Angus. The meat comes cooked as ordered, in my case that is well done, along with lettuce, tomatoes, onions pickles and cheese served on a thick wooden block in a white sesame bun. But what makes this burger so humongous, asides from the thick paddy of course, is the added goat cheese, garlic, feta, red peppers and the SoHo secret sauce to top it all off. I would’ve changed my fries for a salad but I forgot to ask the waiter when ordering and by the time he brought me my burger it was already too late.

The Fat Cow Inside ViewOverall, I must say I was a bit disappointed with this burger. I didn’t think that all the ingredients together were a good combination as there was simply too much going on making it hard to appreciate the burger for what it really is and messy. Perhaps if I had chosen the wagyu beef it would’ve tasted better. On the other hand, the fries were excellent.

Although my expectations weren’t met, I would still come back and try their other burgers. My rating for the Fat Cow burger is a 3/5.

Hard Rock Café

Burgerlees:

Legendary 10oz BurgerReopened in Festival City after originally having it’s home in Media City right off of Sheikh Zayed Road, is the famous International Hard Rock Café restaurant. This venue which comprises of a shop, café and restaurant is a place where one can enjoy shopping, dining and live performance shows all in the same location.

Known for its variety of burgers, the 8 oz Legendary Burger, cooked to your preference, comes topped with beef bacon, cheese, an onion ring, lettuce, tomato and pickles. This 59 AED massive burger is served on a white plate in a simple white bun. A bit on the messy side to eat, it wasn’t as tasteful as I had expected it to be as it was fairly simple and there wasn’t any distinctive savor. I asked the staff to bring some mayonnaise so I could add extra flavor. As usual I swapped my fries for a salad.

My overall rating for this burger is 3/5.
